Itinerary
FOR THE
STRONG INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED RIDERS

The distance between inns can
vary somewhat based on weather conditions. Generally between 20-25 miles
over sometimes rough terrain are covered daily. Sunday: Arrive at
the Kedron Valley Inn during the afternoon and meet your
host before dinner. The Kedron is an 1828 New England inn
with queen canopy beds, heirloom quilts, award-winning cuisine and a
private swimming lake with two white-sand beaches. Voted "Inn of the
Year" by inn-goers. A/C dining patio with extensive flower gardens.
Monday:
Riders are introduced to their horses. Then ride through the beautiful
countryside to Echo Lake Inn, located in Vermont's beautiful
lakes region, tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Tyson. It is an authentic
historical inn, having hosted many dignitaries such as Presidents Coolidge
and McKinley, Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford. For summer
visitors, the Inn offers tennis, pool and boating on Echo Lake.
Tuesday: explore the woods past centuries-old stone fences following
single-tract trails through the woods of Cavendish to the Crown Point road
built by a British general in 1759 to the 18th
century Inn at Weathersfield where
the innkeepers are musicians and gourmet cooks as well.
Wednesday: Riding through an army corp of engineers flood plain across
the Black River to the climb up the side of Mt. Ascutney to Windsor for
the night at the National Historic Register mansion, Juniper Hill
Inn, one of "The Best Places to Kiss in New England".
Thursday: Tranquil farmlands, wooded hillside trails, country dirt
roads, stone fences and pre-colonial ruins can be seen along the ride to
the Kedron Valley Inn in the small village of South
Woodstock.
Friday: Departure after breakfast and last photographs of new-found
friends.
