Wyoming Bison Drives
Capacity: 14

The only real Bison Drive in North America!
Join us on one of North America’s only actual Buffalo (Bison) Drives. The Terry Bison Ranch near Cheyenne is an authentic working Bison Ranch on 30,000 beautiful acres with a history that dates back to the 1400’s. Ride as the true pioneers did - on horseback - among 2,500 head of bison roaming the open plains. This program is not a simulation, the cowboys actually need to move the bison between different grazing pastures. It is very challenging, so we ask you to be 16 years or older, an intermediate rider and willing to follow instructions.

On the first day of your adventure the cowboys will introduce you to the world of bison, assign the horses, and give you basic riding instruction. Bison drives are different from any cattle drive you might have been on or seen on TV. Bison are big, and they are still half wild. They do not like to follow.
On day two, you ride all day to the scout camp. From there a plan is made on how and where the bison should be moved. A scout will be sent to evaluate the bison position.
On day three, the actual drive will begin. This is a challenge because bison can only be herded to where they want to go. However, with lots of luck and good planning, the group of wranglers will be successful. After a second day of herding the goal should be accomplished.
On day five, you ride back to the ranch where you enjoy a farewell chuck wagon dinner followed by an evening of dancing.
While on trail all meals are served from a chuck wagon and lodging is in wall tents. First two and last night is in the cowboy bunkhouse of the ranch.
