Estancia Pampas El Silencio
Buenos Aires
Argentina
Let yourself experience the amazing opportunity to discover the endless Argentine Pampas on the back of our Creoles, the horses of the legendary Gauchos. These Creole horses have a strong pace, steel nerves and a high endurance. They are known to be a quiet partner with a high performance. Our horses are kept in herds at the meadows and are friendly to all levels of riders. Whether you are a beginner or highly-experienced, we have the ideal partner to ride and enjoy the unsurpassable adventure of “Riding as a gaucho”. You can experience that famous picture showing the lonely rider followed by his faithful dog while you ride at sunset. Our horses are ridden following the typical Argentine custom to work in the countryside, which means only one hand to hold the reins with the bit. They react to the smooth pulls of the reins and movements of your body weight. Most of our saddles are typically used for work (rugs, horse-ball, Chilean).

Exploration Ride This ride offers a first glance of the Argentine pampas and provides confidence on how safe it is to ride our horses. We ride on nearby and vacant paths and pass by haciendas and small granges. Ride towards Espora Espora is a small and lovely village nearby where a small train station marks the meeting point for neighbors and a place to refill canteens. It is also a place where visitors are met by the maintenance worker of the historical buildings who will wait for us with some beverages and a quick meal (picada). Ride to Videka blood-horse stud farm Our friends, who are owners of the stud farm, invite us to share a typical English Tea in a high-style atmosphere. Franklin Our path leads us to quiet ranches where animal cattle can be seen grazing on green meadows. In Franklin, some delicious specialties from our kitchen wait for us. After a short break, we make our way back. Ride towards Tuyutí As Espora, Tuyutí has a quaint train station. Nevertheless, Tuyutí is far from traffic roads and “in the middle of nowhere”. During this ride we trot and gallop following the short gait, typical of the Creole horse. Thus we can admire the strength, performance and endurance of these horses while we enjoy the beautiful landscape. We take supplies in saddlebags and stop for a picnic under a shaded tree along the way.
A typical day on a cattle-ranch Getting to know how the gauchos work: gathering the cattle, working the corrals (vaccination, brand mark, etc.).
