9 or 7 days - Self-guided walking

Trip profile:
Moderate walking trip. The walks are very well marked along small alpine paths. There are few climbs and descents to negotiate with en route, with help of cable cars at hand. The walks pass through meadows, along glaciers and alpine lakes.

Day 1  Arrival Day. Transfer from Geneva airport to Martigny by train. Pick up by rep in minibus and transfer to the charming Swiss village of Vercorin (2 hrs in total).
Day 2 Freedom Day Take the cable car to Cret du Midi and explore the upper Rèche valley, rich in wildlife.Walk down to Vissoie, another charming alpine village.
Day 3 Stroll to Grimentz either following the higher route or the lower route.
Day 4 Freedom Day Take the local bus to the mighty Moiry lake and walk to the Moiry glacier. Take the cable car to Bendolla and walk to the impressive Roc d'Orzival.
Day 5 From Grimentz, walk to Zinal, one of the oldest tourist resorts in Switzerland (4-5 hrs).
Day 6 Freedom Day Walk to a cozy mountain hut at the foot of the mighty Zinal glacier. Walk to the Pitetta mountain hut at the foot of the Weisshorn Glacier.
Day 7 Hike along the highland or lowland route to Saint-Luc, a bustling ski resort in the winter (5-6 hrs).
Day 8 Freedom Day Take the funicular and stroll to the alpine hut of Bella Tola for a hearty alpine lunch. Discover the Botanical garden near Chandolin with its rare variety of alpine plants and flowers.
Day 9   Departure Day. Transfer to Geneva airport (1.5 hrs).
