Doma Vaquera / Spanish Dressage, Classic Dressage, Natural Horsemanship, Western Clinics  & Trail rides

Hacienda Buena Suerte

This unique hacienda is situated in the heart of a beautiful part of Southern Andalusia, just a few kilometers from Arcos de la Frontera, and offers riding holidays and training for beginners and advanced riders alike with emphasis on Spanish Dressage or Doma Vaquera or Natural Horsemanship or Western Clinics, but you can also learn more in Classical Dressage if you prefer.
This is a first-class training center for Spanish riding (Doma Vaquera), and it has been famous for a long time for its outstanding training in Western disciplines. The horses are of a quality rarely found. The training is designed for riders that want to either fine tune their Western competition riding or learn more about the origins of the Spanish riding with its long history in dressage and the working  vaquero.

Doma Vaquera & Spanish Dressage

Doma Vaquera is Spain's oldest art of riding. This riding technique is used when working with cattle or bulls, the so called "toros bravos". A very well trained horse is needed for this riding style; riding with weight distribution and thigh pressure with little bridle. Most suited are mixed breeds, such as Anglo-Hispano and Hispano-Anglo-Arabians. This riding style requires a high degree of discipline and connection to the horse. It can be compared to S-level Dressage and riders should have good prior riding experience. Doma Vaquera training sessions are offered to advanced riders only. The daily 2- hour lessons are held in small groups (3-4 participants) and are combined with a full day ride into the countryside.

Western Riding
There are 3 different courses in Western Riding
a. Introductory course for beginners and newcomers.
b. Western course for intermediate riders
c. Specialized courses: reining, cutting, working cowhorse.

Of course trail riding is always available for nice daily outings. We even offer a 3 day overnight trail ride into the Sierra de Grazalema (one night camping) and then to the wide open beaches of the Atlantic for some nice long canters and comfortable overnights in beach hotels.
No riding on Thursday.

Lodging and meals
The hacienda accommodates 16 guests in private comfortable rooms .
Gourmets not only get treated with the diverse Spanish specialties, but also with delicious and original meals from all over the world, from Arabian Couscous over to Flemish to the French Bouillabaisse. The whole year over the ranch has fresh vegetables out of their organic garden and meat from the completely natural living herds of sheep and cattle.
Even non-riders can enjoy themselves here. There is a saltwater swimming pool and biking, as well as seminars in Natural Healing, Hatha-Yoga, Taiji, as well as Spanish language courses.

Note: Between 9 and 10 o'clock we will serve you a full breakfast. At lunchtime you'll find a variety of diverse specialties and a salad bar, including cool drinks. At Teatime there will be coffee, tea and cakes. In the evening we will serve you delicious meals with wine and dessert.

Thursdays is a day of rest on the Hacienda. On this day you'll have the opportunity, to experience the Classical Spanish Dressage in the Riding school of the Castlepark "Las Cadenas" in Jerez.
